Press Release: HRA to Host Events to Honor Victims of Crime

NEW BRITAIN (April 24th) – HRA of New Britain will host events across New Britain to commemorate National Crime Victims Week between April 22nd and April 29th.

On Saturday, April 22nd from 9 to 11 am, a 1.5 mile walk-a-thon through New Britain will kickoff the week of events. Guest speakers will share stories and local groups will have information booths by the walk starting area at 180 Clinton Street, New Britain, CT.

On Wednesday, April 26th, a ceremony will be held at the Police Department’s Community Room where staff of Congresswoman Jahana Hayes and Senator Chris Murphy will read proclamations recognizing local crime victims. Immediately after the forum, a candlelight vigil will occur in honor of local victims. HRA will provide artificial candles to everyone taking part in the vigil.
